Using banner ads and pop-up ads.

Banner ads are advertisements, usually displayed in a box or banner, on other (hopefully high volume traffic), web sites. Pop-up ads are those extra windows that pop up when you are browsing certain web sites. Sometimes they pop-up in the background, behind the page you are viewing, and these are known as pop-under ads.

TCS do not provide a banner ad nor pop-up ad service but by searching the web you can find sites willing to offer these forms of advertising for your web site. In the UK you can post paid for banner ads or offer a free banner ad exchange with www.ukbanners.com.

Banner advertising is an acceptable way to promote your site. As you can see we carry banner ads for other companies on our own web site. As for pop-up and pop-under ads, we at TCS do not recommend the use of these forms of advertising as we feel that their usefulness is limited due to the fact that most people find them annoying, even if they are targeted. Instead consider search engine optimisation, key word or key phrase sponsorship, a banner advertising campaign or an affilate program.
